Visit England is a tourism focused company, providing information on ‘things to do’ and ’places to go’ for people visiting England. This project is a campaign site to promote the Twitter accounts of their local tourist offices.
This aim of this project is to help tourists either when visiting or when planning their trip by giving them twitter feeds to follow that tell them about the things that interest them. Most of these twitter feeds will be curated feeds from TICs (Tourist Information Centres - there is one of these in most towns in England)
For anyone visiting the UK, this microsite had a simple flow made up of two parts. Search by places you'd like to visit or by activities you would like to do. Both results brought users to an assorted map view made up of Tweets from Visit England Local accounts, providing users with a visual list of activities.
The design style implemented utilised Visit England's brand guidelines (typography, colour palette, imagery) into a bold, clean interface that heroes brand imagery of England across the site.
